Understanding survivalism

For many, the survivalism is an effort to survive an “apocalyptic” disaster … worthy of Saint Jean …

Born of a deep fear after the collective unconscious and fed regularly by the disaster scenarios across the Atlantic, the survivalist would have only a single fight: to survive the end of the world.

If some think survivalism is that animal response based on the consequences of a disaster or cataclysm reducing all humanity in a hostile universe, others take a more altruistic approach, realistic and pragmatic …

However, we must realize that natural or technological unpredictable events, although less apocalyptic, can lead us, like it or not, to face certain contingencies (fire, flood, electricity outage, nuclear accident, shortage …)

However, the general population tends to obscure these eventualities by the only argument that if there is a problem, solve the state.
But “the state-savior” should not be synonymous with a lack of lucidity, insight and a complete lack of civic responsibility and personal solutions to crises or serious event.

You have not seen it many times, yet the rich and organized states, unable to face dramatic situations of large especially when the number of victims or the intensity of the event exceeds the logistical possibilities of ‘State ?

Little reminders
– Fukushima in Japan
– Tsunami Indonesia
– Earthquake in Haiti
– Hurricane Katrina in the United States …

Admitting that the state has its limitations, is to promote civic responsibility, and offer individual solutions, family, community …

The French government recognizes four types of major incidents:

1- The incidents are natural hazards

Avalanches, land movements, heatwaves, cyclones, volcanic eruptions, forest fires, extreme cold, floods, earthquakes, storms …

2- incidents of health risks tips

Threats to public health, pandemic …

3- incidents technological risks

Industrial accidents, nuclear accidents, mine hazards, dam failure, transport of hazardous materials …

4- incidents of major threats

Threats to the security of the population, the integrity of the institutions or the economic and social activities (terrorist threats …)

Recognize these types of incidents is not to say “ready, ready in case of …” The state can not have solutions, staffing, logistics practice (not just theoretical) or structures required to solve the problem …

So do not give your safety and that of your family to an external entity, especially today when “trust the state bodies” rhymes with aberration!

The preparation tips, anticipation and accountability of each are now the values promoted by many governments, proving that the survivalism is primarily a real and relevant approach is applied to reality in its most pragmatic.
